Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum was the keynote speaker for the Summit County Republican Party's Lincoln Day dinner held in Akron on Saturday, February 18.

In contrast to his other appearances over the past two days, the GOP frontrunner talked about jobs and the economy, and stayed away from religion, in his stump speech.
Kevin Cook of Akron came away impressed.  Like much of the audience, he’s a former Romney supporter who’s shifted toward Santorum’s more consistent platform.
“I don't think that Romney's a true conservative.  I think that Romney is trying to chameleon is way in and be whatever the people he's talking to want him to be.”
After dinner, Santorum won the Summit County Republicans' straw poll with 74 percent of the vote.
