Kent Old-Time Shindig 5 to 8pm free, first Sunday of every month takes place year round. The acoustic string band music of yesteryear comes alive at the Kent Shindig, an open jam for old-time music and dance, and includes lively Appalachian reels, as well as the occasional Irish tune, Civil War tune, etc. All are welcome to play (bring an acoustic instrument), dance, and/or listen.

Valley House Concert Series
Cuyahoga Valley National Park(CVNP) hosts a monthly house concert featuring former CVNP Artist-in-Residence Ed Caner who serves as both musician and host. The series, which occurs on the third Sunday of every month through May, will highlight local guest performers and different styles of music in the intimate setting of a restored bank barn, on the Hines Hill Campus.
Concerts start at 7:00 p.m.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Admission: $8 adults, $6 CVNPA members.

Seating is limited. Facility is not wheelchair accessible.
Hines Hill Conference Center is located at 1403 W. Hines Hill Road in Peninsula. This is approximately one mile east of Riverview Road.

Contra dancing is open to all and is family friendly. Learn the dance steps in minutes and then dance to the live music. A caller, working with a group of live musicians, guides dancers through a variety of dances. The musicians are world class, playing folk music.
