Mary Ann reveals the essence of rural community life that is reflected in her family's songs of work, worship, land, sea and love. She also reminisces about big family reunions at Christmas and New Year, and the spiritual music that they shared.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 26
8:00 pm — A Season's Griot

Madafo Lloyd Wilson takes us through an hour-long Kwanzaa celebration in story and song. This year's program features youth as the special guest griots, reading their own original and traditional stories. Familiar and favorite elements of Griot will also be in place with plenty of music, and an original composition by the show's poet laureate, Beverly Fields Burnette.

1:00 pm — New Year's Day from Vienna

The Cleveland Orchestra's Franz Welser-Most conducts from the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna as the Vienna Philharmonic presents its traditional festive program of waltzes and polkas.
