The Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration & Music Festival brings old-time craft demonstrations, costumed recreators, performances by the Infamous Stringdusters, the Peasall Sisters and others to the Cleveland Metroparks' Rocky River Reservation on Sunday, Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors will be filled by the pioneer spirit as they play games, taste food cooked on an open fire and learn more about early life in the Western Reserve while walking the path between the Rocky River Nature Center and Frostville Museum. At 4:15 p.m., join the effort to set a new world record for harmonica play-along. Participants will be provided with a harmonica and given a brief performance lesson.
At 2:30 p.m. at the Mainstage at Frostville Museum, the Peasall Sisters bring their 3-part vocal harmonies to the stage. Best known as the voices behind George Clooney's "daughters" in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, the Peasalls have been called "modern day Carter Sisters" for their traditional music and their emphasis on family. Following the Peasall Sisters at 4:30 p.m., the Infamous Stringdusters are rising stars of the roots-based music scene. The incredibly talented six band members bring together their individual skills for a mix of traditional and original music that is sure to be popular with music lovers old and young.
