WKSU can't use every CD that comes to the station. Some are the wrong style of music or contain songs that are already in the music library. Especially since the growth of home recording technology, many folk CDs from amateur musicians are put aside by screeners. In an effort to free up space in WKSU's already tight space, the station has cleared out its large accumulation of misfit CDs.
This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., come to the WKSU Broadcast Center in Kent and fill up a bag of classical and folk CDs. The stash is large and is primarily music that did not make it into WKSU's on-air programming. Although the CDs are free, there will be a $5 suggested donation to attend the event. The WKSU building is located at 1613 East Summit St. at the corner of Summit and Loop. See a map at Kent.edu.
