The 42nd Kent State Folk Festival Celebrates Folk in November

All tickets for the 42nd Kent State Folk Festival are now on sale. Festival events run from Nov. 6 through 15 and all concerts will take place at the Kent Stage in downtown Kent. The free workshops will be again held in the Kent State University Student Center. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Kent Stage, Woodsy’s Music and Spin-More Records, by phone at (330) 677-5005 and online at www.KentStage.org.

The 42nd Kent State Folk Festival brings together legendary, internationally recognized and up-and-coming artists that represent the broad spectrum of contemporary folk music. The Kent Stage in historic downtown Kent – recognized as one of the region’s leading venues for folk, traditional and acoustic music – will be the central hub for concerts that include mainstage concerts and Folk Alley ‘Round Town, a day of free performances in 30-plus venues throughout the city. Nanci Griffith, Martin Sexton, Richard Shindell, Darrell Scott, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice and the Felice Brothers all headline festival events. A performance of traditional music and dance by the Korea National University of Arts Korean Music Ensemble brings world music into the mix.
