The 32nd Cleveland International Film Festival - March 6 - 16
The 32nd Cleveland International Film Festival brings the world of film to Tower City Cinemas at Tower City Center on Public Square in downtown Cleveland. For 11 days from March 6 through 16, the buzz and excitement will spread from the lobby to Tower City's halls, throughout the city and the region as movies and moviemakers from 60 countries around the globe share more than 120 feature-length films and 100 short subjects. Dramas, comedies and documentaries are all represented in categories that include American Independents, Eastern European Films, Pan-African Images, Family Films, Jewish and Israeli Visions and 10% Cinema, which focuses on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender themes. As usual, the CIFF will also spotlight films by local filmmakers in the Local Heroes category. Special emphasis this year will be placed on movies with a focus on the environment, women, Canada and music.
Last year, CIFF attendance topped 52,000 with films making their way to screens beginning at 9 a.m. most days with special Midnight showings on the weekends. Daily updates on additions or changes to the screening schedule will be available online at ClevelandFilm.org.
Tickets may be purchased in person, online or by phone at (216) 623-FILM. WKSU members can receive a $1 discount on their CIFF tickets (good for any Festival film except special events - including the open and closing galas - additional restrictions may apply). Free parking is available in the Tower City garage with ticket validation.
