Dear Senator _______________: I am contacting you to urge your cosponsorship of S. 1353, the Senate version of H.R. 2060 - the Internet Radio Equality Act, introduced by Senators Ron Wyden and Sam Brownback. This legislation nullifies a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board that threatens the viability of music webcasting. Unless addressed by Congress, the CRB's March 2, 2007 decision will dramatically curtail WKSU's use of the web to provide listeners throughout Northeast Ohio and across the country access to quality public radio programming, including the station's award-winning folk and classical music broadcasts. The CRB's action ignores WKSU's public service mission and obligations to bring programmatic diversity to the web and be a reliable source of cultural programming for Americans while saddling the station with inappropriate financial requirements created with a commercial broadcast model in mind. Our regional (and national) community of web listeners needs you to support S. 1353. Please back S. 1353. I look forward to hearing that you have supported WKSU's webcasting efforts by cosponsoring this legislation. Sincerely,
