WKSU recently added Leah Babb to the station's executive staff in the position of director of communications. Before joining the WKSU staff, Babb held Development positions at the Hattie Larlham Foundation in Mantua, the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center, and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. Most recently, she managed non-profit direct mail programs as an Account Executive at Americalist Fundraising Services in North Canton. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals North Central Ohio Chapter and holds an ad-hoc Board position for the Junior League of Akron as Chair of the Fundraising, Underwriting and Grants Committee.

At WKSU, Babb's duties include the production of development-related print pieces, writing grants, coordinating select special events and acting as primary liaison to the 30-member WKSU Community Advisory Council. Babb is a 1998 graduate of Kent State University with a BA in English Literature. During her time at Kent State, she served as a writing intern at WKSU. She currently lives in Streetsboro.

Former WKSU director of communications, Pamela R. Anderson has been named the station’s first director of major gifts. The new position will center on individual fundraising with a focus on large gifts for special projects and WKSU's general operating fund. Anderson came to WKSU in 1995 as assistant director of Development for Communications and Special Events. She has served the station as director of communications since 2001. A candidate in the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts Program, Anderson holds a MA degree in English Literature from Kent State and a BA in Communications and Writing from Hiram College. Anderson lives in Brimfield.

WKSU broadcasts NPR & Classical Music at 89.7 FM, and is a service of Kent State University. WKSU programming is also heard on WKRW 89.3 FM in Wooster, WKRJ 91.5 FM in Dover/New Philadelphia, WKSV 89.1 FM in Thompson, WNRK 90.7 in Norwalk, W298BA 107.5 FM in Boardman, and W239AZ 95.7 FM in Ashland.
